Lemon water is simply that – lemon juice mixed with water. The amount of lemon you use depends on your personal preference, and this drink can be enjoyed either cold or hot. Lemon water has become a popular morning beverage since it’s been claimed to help improve your mood, energy levels, immune system and metabolic health. As I have found, it has helped me with the following:
-
Digestion
The acids found in lemon juice encourage the body to process the good stuff in foods more slowly, and as a result, allows the body to get more nutrients out of the food we consume. Because lemon juice is similar to digestive juices found in the stomach, it tricks the liver into producing bile which also helps in keeping the food moving.

Vitamin C Boost
Willingly ingesting Vitamin C on a daily is not that hard when you are sick, but quite the challenge when you are feeling well. Having a lemon water drink daily helps to not only boost your immune system, but it also helps to keep the cold and flu bugs at bay. Hate to brag, but I have yet to be bedridden by the nasty bug that has been going around! I don’t believe in just taking lemon water when you are sick because it takes all of 3 minutes to put together. It’s simple, easy and effective.
Research has proven that regularly sipping on lemon water can help you lose weight because lemons contain pectin – which helps you feel full for an extended period of time. From my experience, I have definitely seen the results since I introduced lemon water into my diet. I stay hydrated longer and I feel happier because I look and feel good. This daily detox works for me, combined with a workout regimen and a healthy diet. Now, I do have to say this, while this may not work for everyone, it is for you to try and see how it benefits you and to adapt it into your lifestyle to ensure that you do good and not harm to yourself.Have you tried this little change in your diet? What were some of your results?
