Friday, August 15, 2014 at Rogers Arena, my family and I enjoyed ourselves as we listened and worshipped with Joel and Victoria. We were part of the crowd that was moved by the testimonies shared and just the wisdom that was being showered upon us. We all believe in what we believe but God is my Saviour, my Rock and my Shield. Being in that arena, on a Friday night and worshipping was the best time I have had in a long time. Crazy?! Me think not. I think the older that we get, the more in touch we are with ourselves and the things that we value most. There is just something fulfilling when praising The Lord and I felt something that night, and every time I am in the presence of The Lord. Always. That Friday night, I was really listening, and after the last few weeks I have had, being able to just feel whole and at peace in that arena and amongst the congregation, it was just what I needed. I’m a spiritual person, and this year has been definitely one year where I felt tested and despite all the frustration, the anger and all the noise that was going on, I still felt in my spiritual element and close to God.
Sometimes, we just need to take our own space and time to be with God – be it going to church, reading the Bible (of which there is an App that you can get from the App Store for all you iPhone users! Android users – I am sure there is an App too). Even if you don’t believe in God, but you feel that you are a spiritual person, you still need to take the time to reflect and just be at peace with yourself and in your beliefs. “A simple thing” – Joel Osteen. I was able to take away some key notes from “A Night of Hope” that I wanted to share with you all so I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Peep below for some footage! Stay blessed.
