People are always watching to see what your next move is – be it in your career and life. People get so focused on what you are doing that it really becomes a part of their lives to make sure they have time to check up on you and see what you are doing. We all live in some form of a glass house with the way we put our lives out there on social media – Instagram, Facebook, Youtube … we all are trying to be relevant in some shape or form, no matter how big or small. But the question is, are you doing it for the right reasons? I believe the most important person you should be relevant to is yourself because how you change this world is your story, and no one can take that away from you or claim it for you.
You never need to tell the world exactly what you are doing. It’s not about show and tell. I have realized as of late, it’s not about how much noise you make as you do your do, but when you are ready to share and when you do, people will notice. When you take the time to prepare yourself for the moment, you will be ready for what comes next. Get ready for what is to come because when it happens, there is no going back. Or better yet, if it happens and you are not ready, take the chance on yourself and go for it. Float like a butterfly. Sting like a bee. – Mohammad Ali is a quote that constantly reminds me to work for it. I don’t need to shout it out from the rooftops for everyone to hear me as I get ready. Self-improvement is a constant work in progress.
Don’t get comfortable. Life is about evolving and working to be the best version of ourselves. It is about constantly pushing the limits so that we can reach for what we truly desire. The work is never the fun part but when we are working towards something we love, that work takes on a life of its own. I am learning everyday to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be, to inspire me and not terrify me. – Tracee Ellis Ross.
Are you ready? What do you want for yourself? How are you preparing?
