As the seasons changed, so did my closet. I love when I get to start layering and putting together different items in my closet to showcase my personality and my character. It’s about putting together pieces that add vivid color and tones to what would be a simple t-shirt and denim look.
I’ve never been one to show off my mid-riff because as a top-heavy woman, I feel that everything has a way of riding up – and it does in most cases. Nothing ever wants to stay down but to my luck, I found this really cute sweater vest that did the trick. It teased enough skin without completely letting it all out, and the way I layered it with this look was perfect for the day.

This look is fun, flirty and playful with just the right amount of attitude especially with the burgundy lip. MWAH! The intensity of the lip and the vibrancy of the yellow shoulder bag tied the whole look together, along with the scarf. The colour palette as well as the pieces I picked to put this look together were intentional because as soon the season changes, nobody wants to wear colour. And I am the complete opposite! I like to punch colour into each look despite how grey and gloomy it may be outside because with style, comes personality and expression. The colours which I tend to see people drift towards are the darker hues – grey, black, olive ..the list goes on – which all are great, but with those as your base, injecting colour only amplifies the outfit more and accentuates one’s personality.
A blanket scarf is always a necessary accessory as it is something you can pull a little closer if it gets cooler, or open up if things are a big warm. This particular one is from Aldo, and it goes with so many items in my closet because of its vibrancy and multicolour pattern.
For anyone who knows me, a timepiece and some sort of other accessory – be it a ring or bracelet – is a necessity. It adds more to a plain look and it just ties everything together so well. As a woman, you just need to have a timepiece so you aren’t constantly taking out your phone to check the time. Do you have a favourite timepiece in your closet?
This look is easy and super casual. For me, be it brunch with the girls or a last minute happy-hour session, this perfect definitely captures my personality. Not many people might think about pairing wide-leg denims with anything anymore, but I find that having a pair just hanging around is never a bad thing. They switch up the look completely and add more character.
When it comes to fall, don’t play it safe. Venture out and punch in some colour into your closet. It’s about expression and capturing your personality which is key to always being confident in what you put on your body.
