The weather can always be a bit tricky in Vancouver, but when it rains … it pours. Being able to dress appropriately is necessary for warmth and comfort but while those are the two most important items one will want to check off the list, one must also never forget stylish.
Attempting to stay fashionable while it is wet outside can be quite the task – but I accept the challenge wholeheartedly. Being able to improvise and wear my closet is always fun because I put pieces together that make me feel good, and as a result, look good. Picking out items that I know are classy and still remain “on trend” is never hard. While trying to stay trendy might break the bank, investing in timeless pieces should always be the goal because they can carry you through all the seasons.
This look was my take of the “Canadian tuxedo”. I wore a chambray shirt by Calvin Klein with Hudson denim jeans and tan booties. To finish off the look, I tied in a scarf and trench coat. All pieces together pulled together really nicely and effortlessly. I was warm and very comfortable and I slayed this look.
It is always easy for me to feel comfortable in denim and in most cases, especially when it comes to my shirts, I like to go a size up just because I want a little bit of breathing room for the girls, as well as having extra room to layer. It’s so necessary sometimes but even slipping on that tank top or white t-shirt under your shirt helps with insulation. And when you feel warm, you are not only comfortable but also confident.
