Learning to love a colorful plate took its time, but now, it is all I want and crave. Not only is it rich in nutrients, but it makes me feel good on the inside, which is always a great feeling any given day. I now know what my mom was on about all those times she used to force us to eat our greens.
When you choose to focus on your health, the added benefits are paramount. I never had a healthy lifestyle or knew what it was until I read You Are What You Eat by Gillian McKeith. My life was transformed because I learned so much about what is good and bad for the body. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship with a healthy lifestyle. One of the added benefits of a healthy diet is weight loss. Having a balanced diet is important for building the body you want in a healthy way because it really takes time, work and what you put into your body. This is not new news though, because when we decide to make that switch mentally, we benefit exponentially physically. Weight loss. It is 80% diet and 20% exercise.
A colorful plate makes me happy. I’m so conscious of what I put into my body because to feel good on the inside, is to feel and look good on the outside.
