I’m a woman who loves to dance! It makes me happy and just calms the storms … whatever they may be. It eases my mind and soothes the soul, and if you don’t get the chance to dance, then YOU ARE MISSING OUT! One thing I know is, I am not the best dancer, and while I used to shake my little tail-feather, I haven’t been quite as able to shake all that I have since my car accident (but that is for another time).
On a bad day, when I don’t feel like doing anything, I come home, take my work outfit off, and turn on the music channel and just dance. Why shed the clothes you might ask?!! I personally find that dancing with minimal clothing is the best feeling in the whole world. It almost feels like you’ve had a chance to shed your “skin” of the day. You get the chance to leave all that stress and worry behind you, even if it is only for a few minutes. And as the music plays, it helps to relieve the tension. Coming from the days where I used to dress up to the nines and put on my best shoes (which weren’t always the most comfortable ones but looked on point), that feeling of barely having anything on is freeing and amazing. Having learned from my past, when I go dancing now, I tend to dress for comfort – depending on the location and occasion, which translates to a sexy pair of kicks or an insanely hot pair of heels.
Most recently, I danced the night away at the Leon Bridges tour date in my city. From the moment he stepped out on stage, he made certain that there were no bottoms in any seats. He was great, tender at times, and his vocals were just outstanding. Phenomenal. He delivered an authentic show that had everybody dancing and nobody cared how great or awful his or her moves were. It was about the music and feeling the rhythm in that specific moment. Beautiful. Electrifying.
On that note, I wanted to share my Top 10 tracks of the moment with you because I love to share good music:
