This particular little white dress had my heart at first sight. I remember seeing it and falling instantly in love with the fabric and design. Its simple eyelet and flair design had me rushing into the dressing room to try it on and damn was it a keeper! In true fashion, this piece was worth the investment.
Being on vacation was the perfect excuse to wear this little white dress. It is easy to pair with sandals – as I did, or with sneakers, and with each look, this dress makes any summer day’s look chic and effortless. Light, breezy and simple – this is the perfect dress to wear when I know I want to look good and still eat without having to worry about a food baby. Yes – I said it! This dress offers endless versatility and functionality which is what every woman needs in her closet – a dress that allows you to work in so many ways without feeling restricted or thinking if this was the perfect look to wear. White has so many connotations in society but the strongest ones being of brilliance, cleanliness, innocence, beginnings and purity. This being the case, when I chose to add colour to this look, the purpose behind this move was to dilute the connotations and add a bigger element of life and vibrancy to a clean late. What better way to challenge a clean slate than by adding colour? It speaks volumes as it denotes – in my opinion – someone who is all about taking risks and punctuating the still notes in life with character and personality. Don’t let life pass you by just because clean is easy. Sometimes it is good to add your own paint to a white canvas.
Given my love for color, I paired the white dress with this bright purple and orange purse by Cynthia Rowley, a colourful bracelet, along with one of my favourite timepiece’s by The Horse. When it came to my makeup, I kept it simple except for the lipstick. Keeping in true form, I matched my lipstick to the accent on my purse. Thank you MAC for the radiant lips – Lady Danger kept me in true form throughout the day. I went sans necklace but picked up some gold hoops to complete the outfit and finished the look off with my YSL cat-eye sunnies.
