On a hot summer day, I like to just slip on a dress that will is breathable, easy to move in and makes me feel and look great! In an effort to keep it simple, I paired the dress with some white strappy sandals by Steve Madden. I love these heels as they compliment any outfit. But while this look is so chic and effortless, the dress speaks for itself.
Until stripes became mainstream and the fashion statement that they are today, they used to be associated with prisoners, clowns, prostitutes …etc. In 1917, Coco Chanel introduced the navy and white stripe into her creations which then catapulted the once hated pattern into the statement piece that they are today. Stripes in the Spring and Summer months can be seen everywhere on garments. Take for instance, Zara has had a few striped options in various hues that just made every woman and man want to be seen in their pieces this summer. Banana Republic also featured some amazing nautical-inspired pieces which were equally to die for. In this day and age, you can’t go wrong with stripes!
I’m a huge fan of patterns and colour and as soon as I saw this dress I couldn’t leave it behind. It’s loose-fitting and fits like your boyfriend’s or husband’s shirt would. Personally, I am a fan of the white and blue stripe because these colours conjure up images of the sky and escapism – freedom and adventure. As a woman always seeking adventure, this was the right addition to my closet.
