I love everything about this time of year. The amazing food that comes out of the woodworks, the great banter everyone enjoys and the over-flowing love that is felt and shared. Everyone is having such a great time because they all get the chance to spend time with the people most important to us – near and far, while also celebrating the true meaning of Christmas – the birth of Jesus Christ. Despite the fact that some families cannot be together, they find time to make calls and chat via Skype and send text messages – sending well wishes and many blessings during this festive period … that’s what Christmas is all about! There is a sense of “togetherness” while being so far apart, which is amazing.
I have spent this Christmas with my family, and it has been nothing short of amazing. Family is so important to me, and being able to spend as much time as I have with the ones who I don’t get to see as much has been a beautiful time for me. A big contributing factor is the new additions we have had to the family. You can’t beat the happiness of knowing that your family is getting bigger and the love is growing. While spending a good majority of the time on diaper duty, bottle feeds, playing tickle-tackles with my baby niece and talking baby, it has been an illuminating time for me as I have been able to understand what it is that mothers go through when caring for their babes. It has been really wonderful also celebrating with everyone because we haven’t all been able to do this in a long time, and with that being the case, it has made all the celebrations that little bit more exciting.
While also celebrating Christmas, it was my brother’s birthday (December 26th). Family and friends came together and we revelled into the night. Great food, flowing drinks, and great company. You can never go wrong!
I can’t say it enough but I am going to say it again. This Christmas has been nothing short of amazing. Being in the presence of God, and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Being in the presence of Family. Sharing and feeling the Love. That is what Christmas is all about. And it has been beautiful. I feel so blessed. I hope everyone had a beautiful time with family and friends this Christmas, and if you weren’t able to be together, I hope you were able to still connect with those members from afar. Stay blessed people.
.Merry Christmas.
