“Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” – Marilyn Monroe.
I feel on top of the world every single time I go into my closet and pull out a pair of heels that not only remind me of exact moment I purchased them as well as the many memories I have created while wearing them. That’s the nice thing about shoes – they take you places but also show you love as they complete the whole look. Showing casual love, I paired the pumps with a pair of J Brand jeans, a black T-shirt and a pea coat. Classy and casual.
Over the years, I have found that the right pair of pumps not only makes a woman’s derrière look good, but the right pair also boosts confidence over and over again. As a shoe lover and the owner of many prized pairs, my opinion is unbiased and comes from a place of honesty and pain. Yes – of pain. If you are wondering why, it comes down to this one simple fact – beauty is pain and I have worn a few painful pairs in my time because … well … let’s face it … they looked good, but comfortable they were not. Having worn a few painful pairs, I have come to appreciate when the right shoe fits.
When I saw this pair of Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) pumps, I just couldn’t leave them behind. They fit like a glove on first try, and just as important, mirrored my personality. From the 2014 Fall-Winter collection, this pair has been a part of my shoe collection for a few years now and has shown me immeasurable love every single time we have come together. Strange for a pair of shoes to show you love? Not in the slightest. With noticeable black and red hearts and the stand out gold heel, this shoe makes me feel good every single time I put it on. Aside from how they make me feel and look, they are a conversation starter, as well as a statement piece and this pair of pumps was one of the best investments I could have made.
Have you made an investment in your shoes? What’s a favourite pair you love to wear?
